MISSION STATEMENT

Northern Michigan Interfaith Common Ground works to grow our individual capacities as people of faith/belief and conscience to better serve systemically non-dominant groups within our community in an effort to shift our local culture to one of a community of care.

VISION STATEMENT

Values

  • Growth: we work on our own healing, check our biases and continue to strive for a better version of self.
  • Empathy & Compassion: we have a responsibility to cultivate our awareness of others’ struggle to move ourselves and our community towards loving presence in action.
  • Inclusivity & Welcoming: we are collaborating and partnering across differences to create a loving and supportive space that celebrates the diversity of humans and all living beings.
  • Solidarity: we come alongside systemically non-dominant groups to provide support for their plight without taking over their efforts.
  • Advocacy: we support the efforts of local systemically non-dominant groups as well as policies, projects and initiatives that will minimize the systemic disparity.
